Los Supervivientes de los Andes by Marta Arciniega. This Spanish reader is in the second level - Lecturas Simplificadas of Libros de Actividades. On October 12, 1972 an airplane from the Armed Forces of Uruguay left Montevideo with the destination of Santiago, Chile. It was full of rugby players and their family and friends. It disappeared somewhere near the Andes. Ten days later, the search for survivors was called off. No one was believed to have been able to survive over a week in these conditions. The fate of the accident victims was in their own hands.
