Bis English - An engaging ESL card game for beginners based on word/image association. Two packs of 60 cards each provide 120 basic English vocabulary words. Whether you are learning English in a class or at home with friends, this is a fun and entertaining way to learn more English vocabulary. Includes a teacher's booklet.

It focuses on word-and-image association to help students build basic, everyday vocabulary.
  • 132 Cards Total: Divided into two distinct decks.
    • 60 Picture Cards (Red borders/backs).
    • 60 Word Cards (Blue borders/backs).
    • Special Cards: Includes a Joker card (helps you win) and a Surprise card (can make you lose).
  • Vocabulary Topics Covered: Food and drink, clothes, means of transport, animals, household items, and daily activities.
  • Players: Perfect for 2 to 6 players.

🎮 How to Play (The Standard Mode)
The primary layout of the game is played as a fast-paced matching race:
  1. Setup: Separate the red picture cards and blue word cards. (For a basic game, you can set the Joker and Surprise cards aside).
  2. Deal: Shuffle the blue word cards and deal them out equally to all players. Place the red picture cards face down in a draw pile in the center of the table.
  3. The Reveal: The youngest player starts by turning over the top picture card from the center pile so everyone can see it.
  4. The Match: All players look at their hand of word cards. The player who has the written word that matches the flipped picture must read the word out loud.
  5. Scoring: If correct, that player claims the picture card, pairs it with their word card, and sets the matched pair aside.
  6. Winning: Play continues clockwise. The first player to successfully match and clear all the word cards from their hand wins the game.
Alternative Game Modes
Because the game uses a simple, image-heavy structure, teachers and parents frequently adapt it for other activities: [1]
  • Memory / Concentration: Lay all 120 cards face down in a grid. Players take turns flipping over one red card and one blue card trying to find a matching pair.
  • Sentence Building: When a player makes a match, they must use that vocabulary word in a complete sentence or describe the picture to practice oral speaking skills.
