Unterm Rad von dem bekannten Autor Hermann Hesse ist ein spannend beschriebener Roman eines Knabens, dem man seiner Kindlichkeit beraubt hat. Es wird der Leidensweg eines Musterschülers beschrieben, mit allen Höhen und Tiefen. Es ist eine ziemlich traurige Geschichte, die mich sehr beflügelte. Das erstaunliche ist, daß man immer wieder Vergleiche zur Gegenwart ziehen kann. Wie viele Eltern wünschen sich, daß ihre Kinder die klügsten Geschöpfe werden, dazu wird ihnen jedes Mittel recht zu sein. Erschreckend und empörend zugleich sind die vielen quellenden Lern-Stunden bei Pfarrern, Lehrern und anderen, mit denen hier der berufliche Weg zum Beamten gesichert werden soll. Daß so viele schreckliche Tatsachen dennoch interessant und mitreißend sind, ist ein großer Verdienst des Autors, der mich mit seiner Erzählweise einfach begeisterte. Das Buch liest man gern bis zum Ende, obwohl man eigentlich gerade etwas ganz anderes im Sinn hatte. Es regt zum Nachdenken an und berührt emotional stark. Ein empfehlenswertes Werk zum Verschenken und vorher unbedingt selbst lesen.
