Nhóc Nicolas

Vietnamese edition of the French book Le Petit Nicolas (Little Nicolas) by René Goscinny and illustrated by Jean-Jacques Sempé.

Here is an excerpt:

We went into the shop, I pulled out all my coins and put them on the counter and told the florist I wanted a really big bouquet for my mother, but not begonias, because we had tons of them at home and there was no need to go anywhere else. 'We want really good stuff,' said Alceste, and he went over and sniffed the flowers in the display case to see if they were good.”

“The problem now was I had to go home. I started walking carefully, making sure not to step on the lines on the cobblestones, which was easy enough since I wasn’t walking fast. I knew what my father would tell me. He’d tell me that he was always at the top of his class and that his great-grandfather was very proud of him and that he’d won tons of awards and medals at school and that he’d love to show them to me, but unfortunately he’d lost them all when he moved when he got married.”
