Mother and Son DVD

Mother and Son DVD - 1997 Russian film directed by Aleksandr Sokurov. A slow and poignant story of love and patience told via a dying mother nursed by her devoted son. The simple narrative is a thread woven among the deeply spiritual images of the countryside and cottage. Both revolutionary in form and deeply reverent in theme, this intimate elegy is a truly unique film experience of universal relevance and hypnotic vision. Stars Aleksei Ananishnov and Gudrun Geyer. Unrated, 73 minutes. The DVD includes optional English subtitles and an introduction by Aleksandr Sokurov.
