Free Men - Les Hommes libres DVD - 2011 French film directed by Ismaël Ferroukhi. Fantastic film that needs to be seen in these times of unrest in the Middle East. In German-occupied Paris, a young unemployed Algerian named Younes (played by break-out star, Yahar Rahim, earns his living as a black marketeer. Arrested by the police, but given a chance to avoid jail, Younes agrees to spy on the Paris Mosque. The police suspect the Mosque authorities, including its rector Ben Ghabrit, of helping North African Jews flee France by giving them false certificates as Muslims. Also stars Michael Lonsdale and Mahmud Shalaby. Unrated, in French and Arabic with English subtitles, 99 minutes.
